My Favourite Things

Hi all,

Wow, I really suck at this right now. I have really struggled to find any motivation to write my posts but have decided that I want to start this again so will push my self to begin. So I have decided to continue my favourite things series to help me get back into it. I do hope you enjoyed this one, if you came back to me to read this of course. to any new comers, welcome! Glad you dropped by, stay a while and take a load off :).
This series will be posted on a Sunday. I know it is now Friday but I meant to do it sunday but life happened and I didn't want to miss the fun filled week I had off work.

So to set up my upcoming week, my dad has come to visit us from up north so me and my sister took a week off work to do things and basically catch up.

So Monday.....I had one of the worst, shocking moments of my life. I woke up free and happy ready for my week off. However when I trudged downstairs, I was not ready for what awaited me. Our beautiful Bella was laying on the front room floor, absolutely still. My brain couldn't even process what was there and immediately shouted for my sister but it still didn't sink in until I phoned my dad to tell him. I burst into tears, as did my sister. I think the shock and how out of nowhere it was that got us so shook up. She wasn't ill, and she was so young, only 1 year and 4 months I believe.  She showed no signs of anything wrong, so to see her just laying there stiff was like a horrible nightmare. She looked so innocent and even now thinking of it is just wrong, that she could be here the night before and then suddenly she was gone.
I won't bore with the whole process but we were going to get an autopsy done but they said we wouldn't be able to bury her in our garden so we decided against it. Although a vet did have a look at her and said nothing was wrong with the organs so seemed like it was a seizure that caused it. I still can't believe it really. The house feels so empty now, especially after starting work again and not seeing her when I get home. The other morning, I swore I heard a meow when I was getting ready.

So sorry for that, could have made a whole post about that day.

Time to Brighton this up....on Tuesday we had a coach day trip to Brighton booked and the weather was magnificent. It was the perfect day to go to the seaside. We also rode the oldest electric railway in the world still operating, the Volks Electric Railway which opened in 1883.

[a shark attack can happen anywhere!]

Also this week The Great British Bake Off is back!! I love this show

We also took a visit to Cambridge and dined at Nines Global Buffet, visit the website here. It was amazing, all the food was amazing and had a really nice atmosphere :).

[My first plate full :)]

OMG! Pringles have brought back the Pringles snack pot! I was so excited when I found out Asda had these. Talk about a blast from the past.

Lastly, I purchased this gem from eBay and it came this week. The black ranger! He was my favourite ranger when I was younger, even had a doll of him xD. So got the Pop! figure to add to my collection.

So that wraps up My Favourite Things for this time. The next post will be up on Sunday and then will continue from there to be on Sundays :) I do hope you enjoyed my come back post and you continue to come back.

New month, new me

Hi all,

So as you may have noticed I have been absent for quite some time. I don't really have a reason for not writing posts other then I just haven't had the inspiration to write them. Feels like I have been so busy this year.

Good news, I will be moving to a new house next week. Me and my sister have found a lovely place and I can't wait to move in. We have lived with my Nan for nearly 9 months so will be weird at first but I think the timing is perfect. It's my nan's birthday today so Happy Birthday Nan!!

I really can't believe it's July already! It feels like only last month it was my birthday but that was nearly 5 months ago.....wow.

I'm sorry I never got around to finishing my Rome posts, if anyone is interested I will finish them and I am planning on doing a small set of posts about my experience at MCM London Comic con :) that was over a month ago now :( but it may entertain or interest you anyway :).

I hope to get into blogging again now and maybe even YouTube, we will have to see how this goes first :)

I hope you will come back and read my posts again, and bare with me.

See you soon

Rome Birthday Holiday Day 1&2

Hi all,

Oh dear, I am so sorry for neglecting my blog!! It has been such a blur this last week, I intended to do a few posts about Rome the week I got back but then came down with a cold which just got worse through the week and still recovering from it now. So here is the first post about Rome :)

[me in St Peters square]

I was unsure whether to do 7 posts, 1 for each day for bunch in a few days in each post. However we did so much I am going to do a post a day so you won't be sitting reading for half an hour for each one :) aren't I so thoughtful :).
Our plane departed from Stanstead on the 20th Feb. My sister surprised me by booking the lounge there where there is all you can eat and drink, it was so nice to chill out before the flight and the food was pretty good too :). I'm not the best flyer but I did't cry this time at least xD i had the film Spy on my iPad ready for the flight to keep my mind of flying in midair...thankfully wind was behind us so our flight was shorter then it was supposed to :).

We finally arrived in Rome and went to our transfer, was quite a long journey to the hotel and I still don't like that they drive on the wrong side of the road! XD. We stayed at the Condotti Inn and I would definitely stay there again! We were a bit uncertain when we arrived as it was in what I believe was an apartment building but the inside of the inn was lovely and the room was very clean and fresh :) and right in the centre of Rome!

We got to the hotel at night, so we went out for food first, was a bit of a challenge as we didn't know where to go! We found a place which we thought had pizza but it turns out they didn't :( although we got a lovely carbonara which was lovely, no fatty bacon :).

Will start on the Sunday as the saturday wasn't much of a day. (Sorry if this post it really long!)

[view from our window :)] loved the shutters!

As its sunday we decided to go and see the Pope at noon. The Vatican was really close to our hotel so we went there quite a lot :). It was a 15-20 minute walk I believe. It was a lovely sunny day too :D

[Kylie in St Peters Sqaure]

We got to St Peter's Square and there were so many people, we weren't sure where the Pope came out but soon figured it was where everyone was facing!  Where a red cloth was hanging out of a window. We had great timing too so we didn't have to wait long and had a great spot too :).

[Pope's apartments]

[zoomed in Pope]

Unfortunately, I didn't have a clue what he was saying but it was a lovely atmosphere, glad we got to go, was definately an experience :)

[balloons were left off when he finished]

I'm not really a religious person but I really enjoyed his speech and feltat peace listening to him.

After the speech we were getting hungry and there was a sign for Mcdonalds 5 minutes away, well they lied! We went in search and had to use my phones gps to find the damn place! Typical british getting a Mcdonalds on holiday! Was yummy though and even got some cakes at the McCafe :).

[The sun was in a lovely spot on the way back to the hotel]

[bridge over river]

Walking back to the hotel we went down to the riverside and walked along the river  :) was lovley, would have been nicer without grafitti but never mind.

[Castel Sant'Angelo from below]

[View after going back up the stairs]

[River Tiber]

We had a great first day, the sun was kind to be out most of the day :). We had fun exploring and went back to the hotel to rest before going in search of food again.
We discovered that if we went in the opposite direction to the night before we would find the Piazza Novana and loads of restaurants :/ what a fail. We went into a place called Zio Ciro which was lovely and quite cheap too.

[first pizza of the holiday :D]
We both got pizza and it was amazing! Couldn't even eat it all and the staff were lovely, even gave us free limoncello ahots after our meal which were delightful :)

[limoncello shots]

After our meal we went to investigate the piazza navona which is beautiful, especially at night :).

 [fountains in Piazza Navona]

I love the poses the statues have on the fountains xD really cheered me up.

[Statue in another Piazza]

We went exploring further and found another square with an awesome statue.

[cat sanctuary]

We came across the Cat Sanctuary we had read about alas we didn't see many cats at night :(

We then decided to head back to the hotel so we could get an early start the next day.
Such a great start to the holiday!

What did you think of the things we did?
Have you been to Rome?

Join me again next time for Day 3 in Rome :)
